About Me

Hi, I’m Cindi Clinton. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance!

I love text and am fascinated with typography. All my life, words have been the most powerful, evocative possessions I own. Words have power and magic, influencing people in all kinds of ways – for good or evil.

I got my professional start in California county government and worked there for 12 years. To this day, I have a deep love for public service and abiding respect for the pillars of government.

When I left county employ in 1996, I wanted to try things in the private sector. For some highlights:

  • I spent some time working in real estate on the company side, doing AR/AP, and processing splits. I love the real estate industry. Everyone is perky, plucky, and confident because they know that sourpusses don’t sell houses!
  • I also did some work in developer-based real estate, working for high-end housing developments with HOA’s. I was a point of contact for homeowners, handled complaint/service tickets, and ghostwrote their HOA newsletters.
  • I’ve done a couple of different kinds of data entry. In one, I was inputting orders for a cabinet door company at their location. The other was a very interesting job where we got paid by the word, inputting data from court cases to make a searchable database. It was an amazing job with a fun team and I still kind of miss it.
  • I worked at hotel/motel industry as a night auditor, so I am familiar with this industry. My favorites were when I got to work in locations near the beach. Capitola Village will always have my heart.

I got my start on the web 20 years ago because I needed a website for the handmade wire jewelry business I was doing on the side. I thought it would be a fun adventure to join this mysterious web environment that magically exists in thin air. I was hooked, not just by the internet but by BEING on the internet. Later, I went to college and was a Computer Networking major, but found I love the creative side much more.

Being a Libra, I loved being able to share my tasteful aesthetic with the world by creating elegant websites, which I did for about a decade. E-commerce continues to be the biggest thrill of my professional life, which is why I love helping people with their product descriptions and web copy. Joining the world marketplace is an incredible feeling and I’ll never get over it. I hope you don’t either.

I’ve written hundreds of articles and content for my own sites as well as writing for various jobs I’ve had, from writing business letters to newsletters and even writing hiring ads. Most of my past writing work has been ghostwritten content.

My start as a CBD writer

I started researching CBD in my own quest for chronic pain relief. I fled an abusive marriage that left me with depression, anxiety, PTSD, facial injuries and a torn labrum in my hip. I was working night shifts in an assisted living facility that did drug testing, so marijuana was out of the question. I need something that would relieve my pain and quiet the replays enough that I could get to sleep in the daytime and stay asleep for at least 6 hours.

Nowadays, I spend very few nights in tears. The more I learned about CBD, the more I knew this was something that more people needed to know about. Writing about CBD is more than just a way to make a living. It’s a quest to share knowledge about something that can change lives for the better. I don’t know a single person who can’t benefit from CBD.

As for the personal side…

I’m a tiny firecracker of a woman, in my mid-fifties, and have been mostly deaf for many years. I’ve raised an amazing son who does incredible art and is one of the nicest, most interesting people I’ve had the good fortune to know. I have two beautiful brindle Pit Bull-mix dogs and two black cats. Somehow they all manage to be underfoot at the same time, but we make it work <snort>.

I live in a semi-ghost town on a plateau in the high desert of Oregon. We are more than 3,000 feet above sea level. Our population is about 700. The cold season is long and white. We get most of our water in its freezing forms such as snow, hail, freezing fog, and freezing rain. Summers are relatively short, dry, and hot. Yes, we have tumbleweeds! You can hear the theme music from “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” when they blow by.

You need a lot of interests to make it up here in these long cold months and I have plenty. I love to read and am always learning something new, ALWAYS. I make jewelry, pyrography, stained glass, leather work, and macrame. I love lifting weights, belly dancing, and martial arts. I’m into meditation and love reading those peaceful, wonderful books by the monks, Pema Chodron and Thich Nhat Hanh.

I’m also an active gamer. I have an Xbox One S and a PlayStation 4. I also enjoy playing World of Warcraft which is an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) on my computer. I have a local gaming group as well and we get together in person to play D&D, Unhallowed Metropolis, console games, and even play some fun tabletop games like Cards Against Humanity, Tokaido, Dead of Winter, and Munchkin.

I would be thrilled to have you talk with me about your project and explore how I can take some of the load from your shoulders, so you can focus on what you do best!
